Snapchat video showed defendant driving at 130mph down A55
A DANGEROUS driver ‘tried to impress’ his friends before crashing and injuring two of them. Morgan Edwards had earlier driven at 130mph on the A55 that day.
The defendant, who had modified his VW Golf car in a bid to make it go faster, smashed into a BMW in Bangor.
One rear seat passenger suffered serious facial injures when a loose toolbox hit him. Another passenger sustained a broken leg.
Edwards, 20, of Gordon Terrace, Bethesda, admitted two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving against the two victims.
A judge at Caernarfon Crown Court sent him to a Young Offenders’ Institution for 28 months for each count, with one to run concurrently.
Prosecutor Ember Wong said Edwards had been involved in a crash in a Ford Fiesta caused by his ‘inattention’ on December 23, 2023. But he nevertheless got a more powerful car - the Volkswagen Golf TDI.
