JURY CONVICTS 30-YEAR-OLD OF MANSLAUGHTER BUT CLEARS HIM OF MURDER

- By DAVID POWELL Daily Post Reporter

Guilty of beating man to death in own home

(North Wales Police)

A man has been found guilty of beating a Wrexham dad to death in his own home. Thomas Iveson, 30, was yesterday convicted of the manslaughter of Craig Joseph Richardson, who was 37.

But a jury at Mold Crown Court found Iveson not guilty of murdering Mr Richardson. He died following an incident at his home in the Plas Madoc area of Acrefair on February 23 this year.

The jury of ten women and two men had retired to consider their verdicts on Wednesday shortly before 1pm.

Just before 11am yesterday the jury returned with their verdicts. Iveson, wearing dark trousers, a pink shirt and a dark tie as he stood in the dock, leaned back slightly on hearing their decisions.

The defendant, of Llyndir Lane in Burton, Rossett had denied murdering Mr Richardson.

The jury unanimously found Iveson guilty of manslaughter.
