WOMAN SPARED JAIL TO ALLOW MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT AFTER 'TERRIFYING' ARSON ATTACK

- By DAVID POWELL Daily Post Reporter david.powell@reachplc.com

A woman posted a firework through a family's letterbox in an act of 'revenge.' Ellie Condron had fallen out with the victim and took a taxi across Flintshire to carry out the arson attack.

The damage to the house in Broughton was limited but it left the family worried and anxious. Condron, 19, of Alyn Meadow, Mold, pleaded guilty to causing arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered in the incident last October.

A judge at Mold Crown Court yesterday imposed a two-year term in a young offenders' institution but said he was suspending it for two years by the 'narrowest' of margins so she could get mental health treatment in the community.

The court heard Condron had a troubled background and had not been taking her anti-psychotic medication. Prosecutor Myles Wilson said the defendant had fallen out with an 18-year-old woman.

It came after the woman asked Condron to remove a video which Condron had posted on social media which referred to the woman's cousin.
