Chiesa grateful to fans during his 'tough time'

FEDERICO CHIESA has paid tribute to Liverpool supporters as he thanked them for his 'amazing' chant during a 'tough' first season at Anfield.
The Italian has been limited to a bit-part role since joining from Juventus last summer, but is still a popular figure among the club's fanbase.
The forward made 14 appearances in all competitions this season, but only six of his outings have come in the English top-flight.
Meanwhile, he had to wait until the penultimate game of the season away at Brighton to be handed his first Premier League start by Arne Slot.
Chiesa was then left out of the matchday squad for Liverpool's final game of the season as they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Crystal Palace.
