CAUTIOUS WELCOME FOR WELSH GOVT SEABIRD STRATEGY FROM RSPB CYMRU

THE Welsh Government has this week published its Seabird Conservation Strategy for Wales, following a seven-year long campaign from RSPB Cymru.

The Seabird Conservation Strategy is a crucial policy aimed at protecting seabird populations in Wales.

Focusing on habitat protection, addressing threats and encouraging collaboration between stakeholders, the strategy aims to ensure the longtime survival of the most important and threatened seabirds.

Seabirds are the most threatened bird group in the world, with 62% of UK seabird species in decline. But Wales is a stronghold for globally important seabird colonies.
