AIRBUS CONSIDERING 'STRETCHING' PLANE TO FILL GAP LEFT BY SUPERJUMBO A380

AIRBUS is considering “stretching” its biggest jet currently in production to help fill the gap left by the superjumbo A380.

The four-engine A380 was the giant of the skies but production ended in 2020 due to a lack of orders.
Their biggest plane still being made is the A350-1000 with a wingspan of 64.75 meters and a length of 73.78 meters.
It can carry up 410 passengers - well below the approximate 550 passengers a standard A380 carries.
It has previously been touted that Airbus could look at a A350-2000 plane with an increased capacity compared to the current biggest A350.
