THE government is closer to clawing back the £148million owed by a Baroness Mone-linked firm, says the Health Secretary.
After the company was wound up yesterday, Wes Streeting said: "We said that we will not rest until we've got back hard-earned taxpayer money paid to rogue operators like PPE Medpro.
"Today we've taken further action to do just that." PPE Medpro went into administration in September.
It owes the £148m to the Department of Health and Social Care after losing a High Court lawsuit over unusable Covid gowns it supplied.
Judge Sebastian Prentis ruled yesterday that the only way forward was to close the company.
