Ministers promise hard graft amid migrant hotel protests

- BY DAVE BURKE Political Correspondent

SORTING out the asylum chaos for good will take time and hard graft, ministers said yesterday.

Writing for the Mirror, borders and asylum minister Dame Angela Eagle said: "No gimmicks, no games, this real work is all part of our system-wide approach to delivering necessary, lasting change for the British people."

It came as anti-migrant protesters returned to the streets to target the use of asylum hotels.

A small group gathered outside a Holiday Inn in the West Midlands to demand that migrants be moved out.

The demonstration was one of dozens held across the country under an Abolish Asylum System slogan.
