Great North Run medals show wrong city & river
BLUNDERING organisers of the Great North Run put a map of Sunderland on thousands of medals and T-shirts instead of Tyneside.
More than 60,000 people ran in Sunday's 13.1-mile race from Newcastle to South Shields.
But Tyneside loyalists told of their shock that the map was of the River Wear in the rival city.
