Timeless Austen

The BBC will celebrate the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth with a series about how a self-taught village girl became one of the world's finest writers.

While many of her letters were famously burned by her protective sister Cassandra, the three-parter will draw on the surviving ones to bring her back to life, also using the insights of experts, novelists and actors who have played her characters.
