Amorim orders Cunha to step it up

- BY TYRONE MARSHALL

RUBEN AMORIM has challenged Matheus Cunha to raise his game as the Brazil forward gears up for a return to action against West Ham tonight.

The Manchester United head coach believes Cunha has spent too much time obsessing over his lack of goals since a £62.5 million summer switch from Wolves, having only scored once in 11 appearances.

But after missing United's past two games because of a head injury, he is set for a place on the bench when the Hammers visit Old Trafford, with fellow summer arrival Benjamin Sesko sidelined with a knee injury. Insisting there is plenty more to come from Cunha, Amorim said: “He has more levels to go. He' in a different club, different pressure, but he has coped with that really well. He was struggling because he was not scoring... but the influence that he has on the team is so important for us.”
