Ticker such a hearty competitor

THERE'S nothing dodgy about this Ticker in York's Sky Bet Constantine Handicap.

Unexposed NORTHERN TICKER (4.10) looked a fine prospect last season when winning twice and finishing third in the Listed Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar in October.

He was well beaten on his handicap debut and first run of the season over this course and distance in June.

It's not worth worrying about that effort as he was too keen in the early stages and it came at a time when his trainer Michael Dods (right) was struggling. He's in much better form now.

This fast three-year-old put in a much better effort when fourth at Hamilton last month when he raced further towards the unfavoured stands’ side.
