Potter off the hook as Hammers go on late rampage... but Nuno faces showdown talks with Marinakis

- BY BRENDAN MCLOUGHLIN

WEST HAM stunned Nottingham Forest with three late goals to ease the pressure on Graham Potter.

Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta - from the penalty spot - and substitute Callum Wilson netted three times in seven minutes to finally give their season liftoff.

It was an extraordinary ending to a match which was anything but.

Not that the Hammers will have cared, however, as they got their first Premier League points of the season on the board.

Potter and his players made a beeline to applaud the Hammers away end at the final whistle and make their appreciation known.

It was a far cry from the tense exchange between Bowen and a fan after Tuesday's Carabao Cup defeat at Molineux.

And Potter (top) can now breathe a little easier over the international break - but can the same be said for his opposite number Nuno Espirito Santo?

He is set for talks with owner Evangelos Marinakis and the Forest hierarchy during the hiatus to discuss recent tensions behind the scenes over the clubs transfer activity.

"It doesn't help," Nuno said of the result ahead of those talks. "But there is no connection between these things.
