Ukraine star slams Olympics ban over helmet tribute
UKRAINIAN Winter Olympics athlete Vladyslav Heraskevych says his disqualification is a victory for Russian propaganda.
The skeleton racer, 27, was ruled out of the event an hour before the competition because his helmet displayed pictures of victims of his country's invasion by Russia.
The International Olympic Committee said it contravened rules about statements in the field of play.
Despite discussions with IOC president Kirsty Coventry at the Cortina Sliding Centre yesterday morning, an agreement could not be reached.
