MacIntyre will pay off parents' mortgage after first PGA Tour win

- NEIL MCLEMAN

THIS ONE'S FOR PA (& MA)

BOB MacINTYRE will make parents his "mortgage free" after winning his emotional first PGA Tour title at the RBC Canadian Open with his dad as his caddie.

The Ryder Cup player had admitted to homesickness and missing his family after struggling in his first season on the other side of the Atlantic.

And following his split with a second caddie this year after missing the cut in Dallas, Oban's MacIntyre asked his father Dougie to take a week off from his job as greenkeeper at their local Glencruitten Golf Club to help him out. A dash to get Dougie a work visa at the start of the week was followed by rounds of 64, 66, 66 and 66 for a one-shot win - and the first prize of $1,692,000.
