PADEL BORED? Klopp is having a great time away from football, but the game needs him back
THERE is an old gag about how you know if someone is a vegan. They tell you.
Until recently, the same line could have been applied to owners of air-fryers and, nowadays, to people who play padel.
Those who can afford to pay the £40 an hour to hire a court can't stop telling you how cool padel is.
And if you are an elite-level football manager and have not had a padel court built at your club's training ground, you are in danger of being seen as some sort of dinosaur.
To be fair to Jurgen Klopp, he bought in early to the cult and now has a company that plans to build nine padel courts in Liverpool.
Which is nice. It is something that can occupy Klopp's time as he enjoys life away from football management. And he is really enjoying life away from it.
