Ratcliffe & Co need to cut their losses on Ten Hag whose reign of mediocrity hits new depths

- JEREMY CROSS

ROTTEN REDS

ERIK TEN HAG is riding on a tragic roundabout that has left the heads of Manchester United's owners spinning.

But Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and his band of not so merry men who run the show at Old Trafford, need to give them a wobble.

Because if they think Ten Hag is still the right man to lead United back to the glory days, they are deluded.

Ten Hag is the problemnot the solution.

And what to do about the Dutchman's obvious failings is now the acid test of the ambitions and footballing acumen of Ratcliffe and fellow power brokers Dan Ashworth, Sir Dave Brailsford, Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox.

Yet the answer is simple.

Follow the evidence, which is that United are no better now than when Ten Hag took charge in 2022.

The man himself can crow about winning two domestic cups. But so what? Are these the standards United and Ten Hag are now setting, or measuring themselves against?
