IT'S National Inclusion Week - a time dedicated to making inclusion an everyday reality.
-
We talk to IT specialist Chris Browne, 39, from Walthamstow, North East London, head of product for talent acquisition at Tesco, who is dyslexic with ADHD, about why inclusion matters in the workplace.
What do you do?
I lead the team that looks after all of Tesco's hiring technology - our careers sites, interview tools, and recruiter systems. On one hand, I'm keeping the wheels turning day to day, but on the other, I'm also looking ahead, making sure our hiring tech helps us attract diverse talent, create fair candidate journeys, and ultimately bring the best people into Tesco.
What do you love about it?
The scale is incredible. Tesco has around 330,000 colleagues in the UK, Ireland, India and across Central Europe. It’s the UK’s largest private employer, with one in every 100 working-age adults working here. We recruit for just about every role you can imagine, from drivers and store colleagues to scientists and designers. That variety means you never stop learning, and it’s amazing to see how people can reinvent their careers again within Tesco.
What are the challenges?
