BBC show's experts make heirloom good as new

THE Repair Shop experts have restored many treasured rings over the years but they have never had to cut one from the finger of a contributor before.

In tonight's episode of the BBC series, Sally O'Connor visits the barn with a cry for help.

On her wedding day, she was given her late mum's diamond engagement ring by her father and she has never taken it off since.

But last year, she flew into a panic when the diamond fell out. Although she found the gem in her handbag, she has never been able to get the band repaired because it was stuck on her finger.
