|September 05, 2025
A FORMER soldier with PTSD who stabbed his partner to death after she reported him for drink-driving is facing life in prison.
Stephen Lawton, 45, knifed Michelle Egge-Bailey, 54, in the neck three times and once in the arm as she lay in bed. One wound cut her jugular vein.
A jury was told Lawton murdered her "out of anger and revenge" on March 11, 2025.
On the day of her death, Lawton said Michelle had been drinking bottles of prosecco and he had been downing Stella beer and they had been arguing throughout the day.
