Professors issue swim alert after lad's death

A SCIENTIST whose son died while snorkelling has collaborated on a paper warning how dangerous breath-holding while swimming can be.

Professor Hugh Montgomery's son Oscar died aged 17 while snorkelling in calm waters, he said.

He worked with Prof Andrew Baker, whose own son George narrowly survived a similar incident - he lost consciousness while underwater.
