Nato chief's Russia warning as sub is tracked in Channel

NATO chief Mark Rutte has told the West to prepare for war like our grandparents endured.

His warning came as a Russian submarine was shadowed by the Royal Navy in the English Channel, and Defence Secretary John Healey launched a military intelligence services body to combat threats.

Mr Rutte, a former Dutch Prime Minister, called for a big increase in defence spending, and claimed the UK and other allied nations were next in Russia's sights.
