WAKEFIELD lost the Festive Challenge battle at Headingley but teenager Harvey Smith proved that he may help them win the war one day.

Three of the Rhinos academy products produced the tries that led to this preseason win even though it was Smith (top) - made captain for the day despite his youth - who stole the show.

And Trinity coach Daryl Powell was delighted by his youngster's display.

“He's had a standout preseason for us," said Powell (below). “Physically, he's growing. I made him captain today, I just thought he deserved it with his preseason and I thought he showed today he’s a proper player.
