Future of boss in major doubt after relationship with owner breaks down

NUNO ESPIRITO SANTO has placed his Nottingham Forest future in grave doubt by declaring: "There is no smoke without fire."

In a remarkable press conference to preview tomorrow's trip to Crystal Palace, the Reds boss (right) claimed his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis has broken down to such an extent it may be beyond repair.

The Portuguese signed a new deal in June, having guided Forest into Europe for the first time in 30 years, but last week he raged that his squad was not deep enough.

Four new signings have swiftly arrived, with Marinakis (above) spending about £100million.
