Stars back their boss with England aiming to avoid Ashes whitewash

- BY JOSH MCALLISTER

JEZ LITTEN and Matty Lees have thrown their support behind England head coach Shaun Wane calling him the "perfect fit for the job".

England are desperate to avoid an Ashes series whitewash this weekend after Australia sealed the series with a game to spare.

Their 26-6 opening win at Wembley was followed by a hard-fought 14-4 victory at Everton's home ground.

The two sides meet again for the third and final Test at Leeds' Headingley Stadium on Saturday.

England or Great Britain before them have not beaten the Kangaroos in an Ashes series since 1970.

And Wane joins a long list of distinguished coaches yet to get the better of their old rivals.
