Net zero needs global backing

SAYING we shouldn't move towards net zero because British emissions are insignificant, compared to some other countries, is exactly like saying it doesn't matter if I don't pay my taxes because the amount due from me is insignificant compared to the total tax take.

Granted Tony Blair's argument is more confused than that because after denying that it matters, he then called for more hi-tech ways to achieve it.

But it takes its place among the arguments of those who claim they are not climate-change deniers, but can be relied upon to oppose doing anything about it.

Surely everyone should be getting behind any policy that helps tackle climate change? Net-zero emissions help by preventing further warming of the planet. It's not that difficult a concept.
