Starmer's plea on long range strikes as Kyiv allies turn screw on Russia

- BY LIZZY BUCHAN Political Editor

KEIR Starmer urged allies of Ukraine to keep the pressure on Vladimir Putin by giving Kyiv long-range missiles.

The Prime Minister also said fellow Coalition of the Willing countries must drag Russia to the negotiating table by turning the screws on its economy as the Kremlin tyrant is not serious about peace.

After talks in London with more than 20 allies, Mr Starmer vowed: “We will keep up the military pressure on Putin through the continued provision of long-range capabilities.”

He also sought to seize the momentum following US and EU sanctions on Russian oil and gas.
