MONSTER FRITZL IN FREEDOM BID
Daily Mirror UK
|February 13, 2025
EVIL Josef Fritzl is launching a bid for freedom that could put the cellar monster back on the streets by next year.
Lawyers for Fritzl, 89, said they will submit a parole application next month and are confident he will be released having served just 15 years for his depraved crimes.
The Austrian was jailed in 2009 for raping and fathering seven children with his daughter Elisabeth, who he held captive in a cellar for 24 years.
But his legal team argue he no longer poses a danger to society in his frail state and old age. Lawyer Astrid Wagner told the Mirror: "We will start an action in March and call for parole.
If the court rejects it, we will appeal."Given his condition, I believe he will be released by next year.
"He wants to live close to where he previously did and he wants to live alone but I think that is very unlikely, given his age and condition.
"He would need a carer and none of his friends or family want to know."
The bid for freedom by Fritzl, who was moved from a psychiatric facility to a normal prison last year, is likely to outrage ad family bora his victims and family members.
Lawyers say deluded Fritzl, who was jailed for life for rape, incest and false imprisonment, believes he will receive a great fanfare on his release.
