KEIR Starmer has left the door open to manifesto-busting tax hikes in next month's Budget.

The PM yesterday refused to repeat Labour's vow to protect working people from rises in income tax, VAT and national insurance.

That fuelled speculation Chancellor Rachel Reeves will put up taxes as she battles to fill a massive black hole in the public finances.
