Parents of the victims of 'monster' Letby hit out at hospital bosses

- HOLLIE BONE

Let down, disgusted .and even more sad

THE parents of Lucy Letby's victims have lashed out at hospital bosses who they say could have stopped the "monster” nurse murdering their babies.

They also criticised attempts by ex-bosses at the Countess of Chester Hospital to suspend the public inquiry into events surrounding the killings amid suggestions Letby’s convictions could be overturned.

imageThe former management team say the Thirlwell Inquiry, which is due to finish today, should be paused while the Criminal Cases Review Commission examines new evidence allegedly proving the nurses innocence.

But Mother D, whose baby girl died in June 2015 after Letby injected air into her bloodstream, said managers were complicit in her child's death.

She said: "To process the fact that one human has decided to attack, torture and kill our babies. How can we ever feel safe or trust again?

"To later find out this murderer had the support, sympathy and full protection from an army of people that allowed for more victims. The people who failed us are responsible for the deaths of our children too.
