Commission calls for reset on Class B drug to 'focus on dealers, not users'
POSSESSION of small amounts of cannabis for personal use should be decriminalised, a major commission will set out today.
Former Labour Justice Secretary Lord Charlie Falconer, who chaired the independent London Drugs Commission on the issue, called for “a fundamental reset” in the way cannabis use is dealt with by the authorities.
He said: “The criminal justice system response needs to focus only on dealers not the users.”
