Ros is an Olympic gold hope but admits big fences are high anxiety
ROS CANTER is the best in the equestrian business - but arrives at the Badminton Horse Trials admitting her first task is to conquer a fear of the giant fences.
The defending champion and former world No.1 admitted: "The jumps are huge. It can be terrifying.
"You have to get yourself in the right place mentally not to allow it to be like that. There is huge psychology around this competition."
Canter is a strong gold medal hope for the Olympics in Paris where Britain, who boast eight of the world's top 10, have significant ambitions.
She is a giant of her profession despite measuring little more than five feet in height, and was world champion in 2018 and the European gold medallist last year.
