If somebody raped me.. I don't think I'd go to the police

STACEY Dooley has admitted she would not feel confident to go to the police if she was raped, after following three women negotiating the justice system.

The TV presenter, 38, spent three years covering the lead-up to the court cases for the complainants who waived their legal right to anonymity for the powerful two-part programme, Rape on Trial.

Stacey said: "If somebody raped me, I don't think I would go to the police, which is so bleak and such a disappointing realisation... But in terms of what I've witnessed, I wouldn't feel confident."

But she said women had been inspired by mass rape victim and feminist icon Gisele Pelicot, who confronted her husband and dozens of abusers in open court in France.
