Gas boss all for workers' rights rejig set out in bill

THE boss of British Gas has backed Labour's reform of workers' rights in the face of opposition elsewhere in business.

Chris O'Shea, chief executive of owner Centrica, is all for a new bill that aims to improve job security and crack down on exploitative practices such as zero-hours contracts.

Business lobby groups including the British Chambers of Commerce, British Retail Consortium, UKHospitality and the Institute of Directors have raised concerns.
