'Farage wants to fill Lords with cronies'

Minister blasts Reform demands

DEFENCE Secretary John Healey has poured scorn on Nigel Farage's demand to appoint peers.

Mr Healey said the Reform UK leader - “the same Nigel Farage that called for the abolition of the Lords” - now wants to fill it with “his cronies”.

Mr Farage had written to PM Keir Starmer, demanding that he be allowed to nominate Reform peers.

But in a further blast, Mr Healey insisted that Parliament would not benefit from “more Putin apologists” - a dig at the Reform boss for allegedly not joining in condemnation of Russia's dictator.
