Samir Zitouni, 48, remains critically ill after Saturday's attack on the 6.25pm Doncaster to London King’s Cross service.

Customer experience host Samir, who is known to many as Sam and has worked for train operator LNER for more than 20 years, was described as “nothing short of heroic” by the British Transport Police.

It is thought Sam blocked the attacker from stabbing a girl, leaving him with a gash on his head and neck.
