Daily Mirror UK
|June 02, 2025
EXERCISE could be better than drugs at cutting the risk of cancer returning after treatment.
A world-first trial found giving patients a keep-fit prescription, backed by a personal trainer, hugely boosted their chances of survival.
People with bowel cancer who joined the programme were 37% less likely to die within eight years.
The scheme, which cost £2,000 to £3,000 per patient, also prevented one death for every 14 people enrolled.
