Raducanu cruises through despite late change of opponent. Draper also breezes into the next round

- BY YASMIN SYED

EMMA RADUCANU breezed through her second-round match at the Italian Open after a late change of opponent.

The British No.2 was preparing to face Ekaterina Alexandrova but the 21st seed withdrew with a shoulder injury and was replaced by lucky loser Jil Teichmann.

The change did not seem to bother Raducanu, who sealed a 6-2 6-2 victory.

But the world No.49 admitted it was difficult to regroup after learning the news during a practice session.

Raducanu, 22, said: "To be honest, it was pretty mental.

"I was warming up for my match against Alexandrova and I was practising with Mirra (Andreeva) and all of a sudden I get told I'm playing Jil.

"Then on top of that, she's a lefty, so it is a complete different challenge.
