Boss must halt slide... but still has backing of Toon chiefs and the fans
EDDIE HOWE will get plenty of time to improve Newcastle's woeful Premier League form - but the Magpies boss admits the search for answers starts with him.
Yasir Al-Rumayyan (inset) and PIF did not sign up to sit in the bottom half of the table but after the latest defeat their stance is only one of concern and an offer of support to Howe and his staff.
For the second time in less than 12 months, Howe was forced to face the music after a painful defeat at Brentford.
Ten minutes earlier, Howe had held a post-game debrief in which the head coach spoke about concerns he had about “technical” mistakes that had unfolded in the game.
“We know it's not good enough and I take full responsibility for that and if we want to get that right it starts now,’ conceded Howe. “That's all that I can do at this moment.”
The similarity between this loss against the Bees is that, just like the 4-2 loss at the Gtech Community Stadium last December, Howe got more than enough time to turn it around.
