Cost of our festive grub at last gets trimmings

CHRISTMAS dinner will cost about the same as last year's despite soaring food prices, say experts.

In a rare example of things getting cheaper, a turkey and all the trimmings for four will cost an average £32.46, slightly down from 2024's £32.57.

The fall comes despite grocery price inflation staying at 4.7% last month, as retailers have ramped up seasonal promotions.

Market research firm Worldpanel by Numerator found the average price for a frozen turkey is down 3.6% to £13.52 from 2024.
