Public inquiry to resume
THE families of the three girls killed in the Southport stabbings hope the inquiry into the murders will lead to change that helps to avert attacks in future, their lawyer says.
Harrowing accounts from children who survived will continue today when the public inquiry resumes.
The probe will examine the missed chances to stop the killer, Axel Rudakubana, from carrying out an attack.
He murdered Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class last year.
Christopher Walker, from law firm Bond Turner, said: “As we enter Phase One of the inquiry, we keep all those affected in our thoughts.
“My clients, the three bereaved families, hope the inquiry will leave no stone unturned in establishing the facts around what led to this day.
“As the chair and the Prime Minister have said, Southport must be a line in the sand, and this inquiry must lead to change.
