Boris lockdowns hit kids the most

Daily Mirror UK

THE whole thing was a disaster from start to finish. Completely mismanaged by an incompetent government. Boris Johnson has admitted that they “probably did go too far” with Covid rules. Children and young people suffered enormously in the pandemic.

Education for many was nonexistent, or poor at the very least, which had a knock-on effect when it came to doing their exams. And when talking about the laws that barred social gatherings of more than six in September 2020, he said he thinks they did go too far.

The bottom line is that Johnson dithered so much and was incapable of making decisions of vital national importance.

Brian Waddington, Swansea

What I still do not understand is how the Tories did not think for one minute what the impact would be on schoolchildren. Remote learning just wasn't working and some schools just weren't able to offer decent home learning.

They were so narrow-minded and focused on restrictions they didn’t think about what would happen to our children’s education.
