Blaze on Moors is major op for crews

A FIRE in the North York Moors national park was declared a major incident yesterday, as crews worked to bring the blaze under control in a massive operation.

At its peak, 20 fire vehicles were sent to the scene on Langdale Moor, near the ballistic missile early warning base at RAF Fylingdales, North Yorkshire Fire Service said.

A spokesman said: "Farmers and local businesses have been assisting at the scene and we would like to thank them for all their help.
