Governor sobs in front of jury and claims she was just 'stupid'
A RISING star prison governor who had a fling with a drug gang boss in her jail has been sentenced to nine years behind bars.
Kerri Pegg, 42, was lavished with gifts by Anthony Saunderson, including a £12,000 Mercedes C class.
The divorcee also signed off on temporary release for Saunderson, who is currently serving a 35-year sentence, without authority.
When anti-corruption police raided her flat in Wigan in 2020 they found Chanel necklaces and Jimmy Choo shoes, along with a pair of size 10 Hugo Boss slip-ons and a toothbrush with Saunderson's DNA.
The Mercedes given to her by the criminal was parked outside.
