£1.66 A PINT FOR 1 DAY

A PINT at many Wetherspoons will cost £1.66 on Thursday to highlight the difference in tax for pubs and supermarkets.

Drinkers will benefit from the chain's "Tax Equality Day", when food and drink prices fall by 7.5%.

Prices vary across the country but a pint of Ruddles bitter will average £1.66 on the day, a Bud Light £1.84 and a Guinness £3.33.
