Locals dominate as Sri Lanka Junior International Series 2025 reach final
Daily FT
|August 08, 2025
SRI Lanka will stand the chance of securing their highest-ever medals tally at a BWF event, as the Sri Lanka Junior International Series 2025 approaches its final day at the New Saniro Sports Complex in Naiwala, Gampaha today (Friday).
-
The young shuttlers representing the hosting nation have already secured berths in 14 finals out of the total 20, and interestingly nine of them will be all-Sri Lankan finals. This assures Sri Lanka of nine gold and nine silver medals each, while the local athletes have also made it to further five finals that enables the hosts to enhance their medals tally with more gold or silver medals. Sri Lanka has already secured over 20 bronze medals upon reaching the semifinal stage of nearly 30 events.
