A solid half century by Carman Mapatuna (54 runs in 42 balls, inclusive of 04 sixes & 02 fours) and a fine spell of right arm, leg spin bowling by Selvin Perera (05 overs, 31 runs, 04 wickets) steered Lanka Cavaliers led by Mahesh Wijeyanayake to a convincing 17 runs win over MCA Committee Veterans, as they retained the “Tyrone de Silva” Challenge Trophy, in their 20th White ball / Coloured clothing 25 over encounter 2025, concluded on Sunday, 24 August at the MCA Grounds.

The 04 special awards were bagged by Susan Bandara - Best Fielder; Selvin Perera - Best Bowler, and Carman Mapathua - Man of the Match (all from Lanka Cavaliers) and Damitha Hunukumbura - Best Batsman from MCA Committee Veterans.
