BYD celebrates production of millionth record-breaking Seagull

ON 30 June, at BYD’s Xi’an factory, a Seagull vehicle rolled off the final assembly line, marking the official achievement of 1 million cumulative sales. From launch to reaching this milestone, the Seagull took only 27 months, making it the fastest pure EV + A00-class model to reach the 1 million mark globally. In the competitive A00-class segment, the Seagull has delivered outstanding results. Since its launch in April 2023, it has topped the monthly sales charts for A00-class models 21 times and led the pure electric sedan segment 19 times. It was the annual bestseller in the A00 segment for both 2023 and 2024 and also took the top spot in the sedan category in 2024. Achieving 1 million units sold in just 27 months, the Seagull has delivered a rare “Seagull Speed” in the industry, setting a benchmark for growth in the global A00-class EV market.
