Alumex PLC powers innovation as official material sponsor of 'Unleashed 2026'

ALUMEX PLC Sri Lanka's leading aluminium extrusion manufacturer, was proud to be the official material sponsor for the event, 'Unleashed 2026'— the launch of FALCON E1, a next-generation electric racing car designed and built entirely by students of the University of Moratuwa.

The event which was held recently at the university, marked a milestone in Sri Lanka's engineering innovation landscape. Developed by the university's Team Falcon Racing, the FALCON E1 is a completely new electric race car built from the ground up, using advanced engineering design, precision manufacturing techniques and cutting-edge electric vehicle technologies.
As the official material sponsor, Alumex provided critical aluminium inputs that formed part of the vehicle's construction, including aluminium components weighing approximately 650 kilograms. The company also extended specialised anodising services for machined components, enhancing the power to weight ratio, while maintaining structural integrity required under racing conditions.
