A reshuffle is probably bad news for Braverman

WILL SUELLA SURVIVE PM'S RESHUFFLE?

SUELLA Braverman is clinging on to her job amid fevered speculation Rishi Sunak will reshuffle his top team imminently.

The PM faced growing calls to fire his Home Secretary for stoking up tension ahead of a pro-Palestine demo on Armistice Day.

Mrs Braverman, who laid a wreath at the Cenotaph yesterday, tried to limit the damage by praising the response of the Met, saying: "Our brave police officers deserve the thanks of every decent citizen for their professionalism in the face of violence and aggression from protesters and counter-protesters." But she added: "Criminal chants, placards and paraphernalia openly on display...mark a new low.

"This can't go on. Week by week, the streets of London are being polluted by hate, violence and anti-Semitism."

Demanding "further action", the under-fire Cabinet minister continued: "Anti-Semitism and other forms of racism together with the valorising of terrorism on such a scale is deeply troubling.

"Members of the public are being mobbed and intimidated. Jewish people in particular feel threatened." In her first public comments since Saturday's violence in London, the Home Secretary added online: "That multiple officers were injured doing their duty is an outrage."

Mrs Braverman, 43, was accused of inflaming tensions via an unauthorised newspaper article, where she called pro-Palestine protesters "hate marchers" and accused Scotland Yard of bias for allowing the rally on Remembrance weekend.

Defence Secretary Grant Shapps, asked yesterday about her chances of survival as Home Secretary for another seven days, said: "A week's a long time in politics. I never make predictions about these things.
